When I turn on the device, some of the LEDs seem to be off. Is that normal?

There is a reason why you see some LEDs as if they are off. Your VitaliZEN 1200 Watt Red Light Therapy Device, delivers medical-grade irradiance (or light energy) to your skin with visible red light at 660 nanometers and also invisible near-infrared light at 850 nanometers. Near-infrared (NIR) light is actually not visible to the human eye. It is outside of the visual spectrum, and as a result, it cannot be seen. However, there is a very slight glow that comes from the LEDs, especially in dark conditions, so if you are concerned that those NIR LEDs are really not working, you can test them that way by only turning on the NIR switch in the dark.

Near Infrared Light penetrates much deeper within your body and tissues, improving recovery of muscles and aiding in reducing joint pain. Using your device every day will maximize the rate of response and healing. Consistency is very important

How I know what wavelength light I´m using?

The device has two switches for Red and NIR - 660nm (Deep Red) - 850 (Near-Infrared) that you may use on their own but the best way is to use both lights simultaneously. Can this be used on the face?

Thank you for your question. Absolutely - the Vitalizen Red Light Therapy device can be safely used on the face, and while you're at it, you'll also be able to use red light therapy for your body since it has 60° light angle. Hope this helps!

Do you guys offer a horizontal stand for this model?

Thank you for reaching out to us about this. We do not offer a horizontal stand for the device, however, the package includes door hooks so you can hang the device at the back of your door safely.

What is the best way to prepare the skin for a red light therapy session?

It would be best to have your skin cleansed with a mild, non-drying cleanser. Remove any mineral-based sunscreen, as well as makeup containing zinc or other mineral-based sunscreens. Sunscreen doesn't actually block red/NIR wavelengths but zinc oxide reflects light, which could affect and decrease therapeutic light photons that the skin absorbs.

Alternatively, you may use the therapy first thing in the morning, before applying any skincare products.

During a session:

To test for any sensitivity or reactions, start with a short 10-minute session. If you don’t experience any discomfort, you can extend your session to around 20 minutes.
Repeat three to five times per week for one to four months, or as long as desired. We recommend making it a part of your normal daily routine!

After a session, you are not required to do anything. If you feel an uncomfortable tightness or redness which is a temporary reaction some people experience, you may try moisturizing with a soothing aloe-based gel or skin tonic, but the feeling is likely to ease up quickly even without any aid.

What is the % of Near Infrared Light? What is the function of the COB chips?

In total, the VitaliZEN 1200W has 132 LEDs, consisting of 128 regular LEDs and 4 COB chips. At 850nm, the 4 COB chips and 64 regular LEDs provide 51.5% of Near Infrared Light. The four COB Chips provide a concentrated irradiance, allowing for brighter and more powerful light that may help show results quicker than other lights, as well as a 60° angled beam to increase coverage at a shorter distance.

Can it be used on 220 volts?

Yes, your VitaliZEN 1200 Full Body Red Light can be used on 220 volts.

Is it necessary to discontinue any vitamins or supplements when using this device?

Is it necessary to wear eye protection when using this device? If not, is there any need to not look at lights/close eyes, etc. Does the lower frequency on this device help with weight loss? Is weight loss permanent or temporary requiring repeated use?

Hi there!

Although red light therapy is not harmful to your eyes, wearing protective glasses is recommended. It would also help a little if you close your eyes and look the other way while standing in front of the red light therapy device but near-infrared light is designed to penetrate past skin and tissue, so you’ll want to use these goggles. Red and infrared light increases blood circulation to the area it shines on and stimulates the release of fatty acids from fatty tissues to aid in slimming down.
Using the red light therapy before or after exercise has been shown in studies to increase overall fat loss. Please keep in mind that red light therapy does not burn fat on its own; rather, the mechanism that appears causes fat cells to release their stored fat into the bloodstream, where it can be burned for energy. Also, your overall diet and lifestyle must be suitable for a weight loss plan; otherwise, you will simply be reintroducing fat into the fat cells from which it was released. When combined––– a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition, and red light therapy will help accelerate the weight loss of overall body fat and stubborn fat from fat areas that are normally resistant to burning.
